Man kills cousin sister for thwarting rape bid

Having failed to rape after several attempts, a 25-year-old man killed his cousin sister in Kolesera village in Eco-tech Phase-3 area of Greater Noida.

According to a senior official of police, the incident occurred at around 11 pm when the victim who was a student of class XI in a nearby government school, was alone in the house. The accused identified as Anil, a resident of Mandawali in Delhi, had come to her house after knowing that her parents were not at home and managed to enter the house and tried to rape the victim by dragging her by her hands.

“The victim shouted for help but in the meantime the accused person having sensed that he failed to rape her after repeated attempts, throttled her. After the crime, the accused managed to flee but he was suspected by the victim’s parents when they found the girl lying dead on the bed. The victim’s parents registered a complaint against the accused person with the police as Amit had earlier too tried to molest the victim,” the official added.

During investigation, the accused confessed to have committed the crime following which the police arrested the accused on the charges of molestation and murder in Eco-tech phase-III police station.
