Man involved in dowry death case kills second wife, held

A 27-year-old woman who allegedly hung herself from a ceiling fan was admitted in AIIMS Trauma Center following which she died. Suspecting foul play, police ordered for a re-examination in which they got to know that she was strangled by her husband who was convicted for dowry-related death of his first wife. The accused has been identified as Kapil Sharma. Suspicious, a crime team was called on the spot by the New Friends Colony police. Several pictures were taken and during local inquiry under the supervision of SHO, New Friends Colony, police found that the information provided by the hospital was contradictory to what they have found. To verify their doubts, experts from Forensic Science Laboratory in Rohini were called in. Corroborating their investigation, it emerged that Parwati’s husband had beaten her before her death.

Police registered a case under Sections 302 of the IPC at the New Friends Colony police station and Kapil was arrested. During interrogation, Kapil informed the cops that he was already convicted for seven years in the dowry death of his first wife in Uttar Pradesh.
