Man held for supplying illicit liquor, cops seize 25 cartons

A 42-year-old man, Chander, was arrested on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in supplying illicit liquor. The police seized 25 cartons of illicit liquor from his possession.
‘Chander, a resident of north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla, was arrested from west Delhi’s Shastri Nagar. At the time of his arrest, he was going in a car with 25 cartoons of illicit liquor,’ said a police official.
On a secret tip-off, that a car with illicit liquor would pass through Shastri Nagar, the police put up barricades and checked every vehicle passing through.
‘At about 1.15 pm, the accused’s car was stopped. And, as per the information, we found 25 cartons of illicit liquor,’ said Pradeep Paliwal, SHO of Gulabi Bagh.
A case vide FIR No. 113/12 u/s 33, Delhi Excise Act was registered at the Police Station of Gulabi Bagh and further investigation is on.
