Man goes for walk, ends up dead; cops puzzled over cause

A 53-year-old electronic engineer was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Deer Park in Dilshad Garden. The police is yet ascertain the reasons behind his death. According to the police, the victim, identified as Bharat Bhushan, resides with his parents in R-Block, Dilshad Garden, for the last 10 years. He hails from Dadri, Haryana. Thirteen years ago, he was separated from his wife and two children who presently live in R K Puram.
'Bhushan took to alcohol soon after he was separated from his wife. For the last few months, he was not going to work. His brother, D K Sharma, is a medical superintendent at All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) and Bhushan's father, Madan Lal, is a retired executive engineer,' a police official said.
Shakuntla, the mother of the victim, told the police that on Sunday evening, he went for a walk to the nearby Deer Park at around 7 pm. But he failed to return. 'I waited for him the whole night but he did not came. I and my husband were alone, so we could not go looking for him. We decided till it was morning before we could go looking for him.'
Meanwhile, one of the neighbours who went for morning walk at Deer Park, noticed a body and made a call to police control room. When the cops reached the crime scene, they found a body lying in the pool of blood with several injury marks on his body.
The official said, 'His lips were swollen and most of the teeth were broken. Several injury marks were noticed on his body and few blood stain marks were recovered from nearby places where his body was found. It also looks like an attempt was made to smash his face.'
Based on prima facie evidences, the police think that he was murdered over some personal enmity. The valuables that he was carrying were found intact. 'Family of Bhushan have been questioned and call details of his mobile phone are looked into to find clues. A case under Section-302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against unknown person. Further investigation is going on. ' the officer added.
