Man gets life term for rape, murder

A Delhi court has awarded life imprisonment to a man for raping and murdering his three-and- a-half-year-old niece after kidnapping her saying he does not deserve any leniency. The court sent 48-year-old Meerut resident Seeshpal to jail for the offence.
‘From perusal of record, it is revealed that it has been proved that Seeshpal had kidnapped the minor girl and murdered her following the rape. Since convict was the uncle of victim i.e. brother of her father, it was expected from him that he would have taken care of the victim but he acted adversely from his responsibility,’ additional sessions judge Ramesh Kumar said. He added, ‘From the act of convict, it has been established that he had lost the faith of society and represented himself as a criminal... for which he does not deserve any leniency.
