Man gets 8 years imprisonment for helping criminal escape

Additional District Judge Manoj Kumar yesterday convicted Harish and also imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 on him.

According to government counsel Javed Ali, the convict had helped a wanted criminal, Bittu, escape while being taken back to jail in a bus after a court hearing on July 22, 2004.
