On Sunday, Ghazibad police recovered partially decomposed body of a 55-year-old man from his flat in Shalimar Garden, Ghaziabad. The person was living alone in his flat and had probably died last Sunday.
'We alerted the property dealer, who had introduced the victim a year and half ago about the foul smell emanating from the flat. The property dealer then informed his distant relatives living in Delhi,' said Ashok Kumar, his neighbour.
On his relatives' compliant, police broke open the door and found the partially decomposed body inside. The deceased, Kamlesh Hingoyani (55), was a bachelor and his elder sister, Kamu Wadhwani, lives in the USA with her family and used to support him financially.
Wadhwani was living in Gurgaon, but shifted to Shalimar Garden after his mother's death.
'He was not seen after last Sunday. It seems he died on Sunday night or thereafter,' said M B Choudhury, a resident of Vasundhara Enclave in Delhi, who informed the police.
Wadhwani's father Kishan was an engineer in CPWD in Delhi. The family originally hail from Ajmer in Rajasthan.
'We have sent the body for postmortem after which it would be handed over to the relatives,' said Ramnath Singh Yadav, SHO, Sahibabad police station.
