A 30-year-old man has been stabbed to death by some unidentified assailants in South-east Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar area, police said on Wednesday. He was declared brought dead in AIIMS Trauma centre late in the night.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh, who worked at a private firm. He used to work in a
part time job in an online company in Okhla. On Tuesday night, he was returning from his office and was on his way home. But later, he was found by a passer-by in a pool of blood. The police had sent in a PCR team, who rushed him to AIIMS Trauma centre at around 2 am, where he was declared brought dead on arrival by the doctors.
The police later informed his relatives about the incident and have sent the body for post-mortem after which his body will be returned for final rites. The police so far are probing the case from all angles and will question his close friends and relatives in the case.
His family has claimed that he was travelling with some cash and it was a robbery attempt, which Suresh resisted. Police said they are trying to scan CCTV footages of the nearby areas to identify the assailants and questioning suspects for any clue regarding the murder.
“A case under Section 302 (Punishment for murder) of the IPC has been registered and investigation is underway,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-east), Romil Baniya.
