In a major security breach, a 25-year-old man managed to reach the Prime Minister’s Office in Parliament House in the high security zone of Lutyen’s Delhi on Friday morning.
According to the police, the man identified as Pradeep Kumar was held from near the Prime Minister’s cabin at around 7.00 am by the security wing of Parliament House.
“He was handed over to the local police at around 12 am and taken to the Parliament Street police station for interrogation,” said a senior police official.
During interrogation, Pradeep told the cops that he drives an auto and wanted to meet the PM for a job. He is a native of Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. Security agencies have initiated a probe to investigate how the youth managed to breach security at the highly-protected Parliament building. CCTV footage of the complex is being thoroughly scanned to check the man’s movements.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha Speaker’s Office has asked for a report over the security breach.
