Man arrested with arms from Kolkata Metro station

A man was arrested after country-made pistols and live bullets were recovered from his possession at a Metro station in the southern part of the city, police said on Tuesday.

Deb Kumar <g data-gr-id="16">Maity</g> (25) was arrested by the RPF with three pistols, five bullets, one laptop and two mobile phones, besides a voter identity card bearing his name and photograph. He was arrested while trying to enter Gitanjali Metro station on Monday night, a senior Kolkata police officer said. Acting on a tip-off, the RPF intercepted <g data-gr-id="17">Maity</g> at the entry point and scanned the bag he was carrying and found the arms, he said.

<g data-gr-id="12">Maity</g> has told police that the arms and ammunitions <g data-gr-id="13">was</g> kept at his house at Falta because of some family feud and as per his elder brother's instructions and he was trying to dispose them, the officer said.
