Man arrested for stalking 27-yr-old, firing at friend’s car

A 27-year-old man, who had earlier been booked for murder and attempt to murder, has now been arrested by the police for allegedly stalking a woman and threatening to kill her boyfriend.

The accused was identified as one Vijay Gahlot alias Kalu (27). According to a police source, Kalu was acquitted for the alleged murder case and was out on bail since early 2013 in connection with the other case. After his release, he first saw the woman and was attracted to her. The woman has a pet shop at west Delhi’s Vikaspuri, and so Kalu bought a dog to stay in touch with her. After that, he often visited her for dog accessories, food, medications and other necessary articles. Soon the woman became aware of Kalu’s intentions and started avoiding her.

Later, he started stalking on her and threatened almost every male friend she met. Meanwhile, he also proposed the woman for marriage, at least thrice, which was turned down.

Lately, the woman reportedly started dating a person and Kalu tracked him down. On the intervening night between March 7 and 8, Kalu shot at the car when he was approaching him. He immediately called up the woman and said he would shoot her boyfriend if she doesn’t stop dating him immediately.

After this incident, the woman reported the matter to the police. During interrogation, Kalu also confessed his involvement in another case in which he had fired upon his cousin Balwan Singh and his nephew Rajesh.
