Man arrested for repeatedly raping, threatening woman

Delhi Police arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly raping a 35-year-old woman in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area on Friday. The accused has been identified as Amit Arora. According to the police, Arora owns a mobile repairing shop in Mangolpuri.

As per the statement of the woman, one-and-a-half-years ago, the victim allegedly came to get her mobile repaired from Arora’s shop, said police.

Police said that once the victim got her phone repaired from Arora, she reportedly used to frequent his shop and consequently, they became friends.

“One day, he allegedly took her out to an isolated spot and raped her. The victim threatened that she will complain to the police. On this, Arora started blackmailing her that he will reveal her objectionable pictures and put her number on social networking sites. Taking advantage of her fear, Arora sexaully assaulted her for a long time,” said a police officer.

Fed up of the torture, the victim confided with her family members. On Wednesday, they approached the local police. Based on the complaint of the 35-year-old woman, Arora was arrested from his home in Mangolpuri on Friday morning.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the accused at the Mangolpuri police station. Further investigation is underway.
