Mamata to attend FICCI meeting for first time

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee will be attending the national executive meet of FICCI for the first time. ‘Mamata Banerjee will be attending the FICCI national executive meet for the first time this year,’ Media Head of FICCI Rajiv Tyagi said.
Every year, FICCI holds such meets eight times in different cities, Kolkata is one of them. After Trinamool Congress came to power in the state in 2011, three such meets have already taken place in Kolkata, he said.
Banerjee will address the upcoming meet to be held on 7 November. Stung by detractors’ criticisms about the Singur episode which drove away the Tatas from starting the Nano small car project following her party’s agitation, her attendance was being viewed positively by many industrialists.
