‘Malala attack was wake-up call for Pak’

Noting the attack on rights activist Malala Yousufzai was the final wake up call for Pakistan, the MQM, the largest political party here, has said it would hold a national referendum on November 8 to decide if people want Quaid-e-Azam's Pakistan or Taliban's Pakistan.

The Mutthaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader Farooq Sattar said ballot forms would be distributed at special booths in different parts of the city for citizens who will be asked to tick their option.

‘The referendum will be held from 9 am to 5 pm and the purpose of this exercise is to highlight the serious challenge we face from extremist elements in the country,’ Sattar said.

He said Pakistan was faced with both internal and external threats and terrorists were targeting innocent people, children and were destroying schools. The attack on Malala was a wake up call for the nation,’ Sattar said.
