Make it a good winter

For a change I am not going to talk about restaurants - much to perhaps a lot of people’s relief! With 31 December coming in fast there’s much more to do than talk about food. Not. But well then!
We spoke to Shruti Kaul Sachdeva, the designer of Trishuli shoes as they launch their very cool winter collection. I won a pair of Trishuli heels myself and personally thinking that they have some incredible designs, we piled a lot of questions on Sachdeva.

Talking about Trishuli, Sachdeva says that theirs is a baby company and they are just learning. True story for Trishuli was launched in January this year. The team spent a year on research and the aim was to create a niche in the shoe-market that was flooded with pieces from China and the likes.

Sachdeva has been a part of the shoe industry for a good while herself, dabbling with shoes, craftsmen and designs for almost a year and a half. Her father was a part of the industry as well working with shoe-components and that is perhaps what got Sachdeva so involved in it all.
And who is Sachdeva’s favourite shoe designer? Nicholas Kirkwood comes the pat reply - so now we know why Trishuli is that cool!

‘The customer should not get bored with what they see,’ says Sachdeva talking about the prints that Trishuli is known for. But it is not just prints, it is neons, spikes, engravings, rich colours - you name it, they probably have it. With the winter collection priced between Rs 2199 and Rs 4999 - add a few to your extensive shoe-drobe. They are well worth it!

If you dressing up well for the party, the music better be good. But minus the room thumping bass beats, we checked out some cool headphones this week - one being the Puma Bulldog and the other the Pro Performance. Both a part of the exclusive new Puma range, the headphones are perfect for a work out regime with their water proof mic and flat wires and they are packaged very well. They come in very cool colours and for those who have serious issues with headphones staying on in your ear and you walk or run - try the Pro Performance that comes with adjustable ear grips. The headphones are priced at Rs 3199 for the Bulldog and the Rs 3999 for the Pro Performance. We recommend the Bulldog for hearing comfort and the Pro Performance for the jogging fanatics. These headphones are available at intersection.in, go ahead, gift yourself one!

Last but not the least, if partying gets to you- book yourself some spa time. We visited Ishana Nature Spa’s outlet at ISAAC near Chattarpur metro station. After their MGF Mall, Saket and the T3 Terminus outlets, ISAAC came next. As suggested the Shirodhara treatment was on the cards. This outlet at ISAAC is known specifically for this one.

Shirodhara, the signature treatment at Ishana Nature Spa is preceded by Abhyanga – a treatment that employs massaging of the marmas (energy points) for relaxation and detoxification with long continous strokes, the Shirodhara treatment employs alternating pattern of a continuous stream of warm, medicated oil on the forehead (third eye). It soothes the mind into a deep meditative-like state inducing calm, bliss and complete relaxation. Harnessing the therapeutic prowess of Ayurveda and unlocking the rejuvenating properties hidden in herbs and oils, the Shirodhara treatment alleviates stress and anxiety releasing stored emotions and balancing the ‘vata’ elements. Priced at Rs 3500 for the 60 minute treatment, it is a must try. It is perfect to clear out all the stress and get back on your feet again - even if it is to just party some more. The other signature Ishana treatments are also available at this outlet - so take your pick.

And lest you forget - here’s reminding you about the Escape Countdown Festival that kicks off at Tarudhan Valley, Manesar on the 30th. An offshoot of one of the coolest destination music festivals of the country – makes for the perfect year ender to unwind, the festival will have 3 stages – Skinner and Vibe and the Boiler Room experience featuring spectacular music, along with art exhibitions, international cuisine alongside activities such as nature walks, mountain biking and rejuvenating spa treatments.

If you want to chill the weekend stock up on the adrenaline for Bungy Week at Rishikesh that kicks off on 15 January. Book in early!
