Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday said that it has received an order from the union government for a fleet of 630 vehicles, which it intends to gift to its Nepalese counterpart.

‘These (vehicles) would be purchased by the Government of India (GOI) for gifting to the government of Nepal as a support for the upcoming Constitutional Assembly elections and will be delivered to the Election Commission in Nepal and the Home Ministry,’ Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.

These vehicles would be utilised by the Nepalese security forces, Nepal police, armed police force and also as part of the convoy during the elections, which are scheduled to be held in the country on 19 November, 2013, it added.
