Mahatos not Geeta’s parents, DNA test confirms

Ending the suspense, the government on Thursday said the DNA test of Geeta, the deaf and mute girl who had returned here over a decade after inadvertently crossing into Pakistan, did not match with the Mahato family from Bihar even as many other families have come forward claiming that she was their daughter. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup also said External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will travel to Indore on November 23 to meet Geeta.
