Maha minister demands Bharat Ratna for Annabhau

Maharashtra Minority Affairs minister Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan on Thursday demanded that the late poet and social reformer Annabhau Sathe be given Bharat Ratna. Khan said he had written to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh, saying that Sathe was an accomplished poet as well as a social reformer, whose contribution to the Dalit literature was unparallelled. The minister said he had also requested CM Prithviraj Chavan to make a recommendation on behalf of the state in this regard.
