Maha govt, Rlys sign pacts to boost projects

To ensure speedy implementation of railway projects in Maharashtra, Union Ministry of Railways and Maharashtra government on Sunday signed several agreements, including <g data-gr-id="16">an MoU</g> for setting up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
The agreements, including Concession Agreement for Jaigad Port Connectivity, launching of Mumbai
Urban Transport Projects (MUTP) 3 and Implementation of e-Office in Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC), were signed in the presence of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
Prabhu said: "These agreements signed with the state government are the part of our <g data-gr-id="19">endeavor</g> that we want to make every state our partner."
He added: "With <g data-gr-id="17">emphasis</g> being given to Maharashtra to develop rail network, this would help the state make a quantum jump into its GDP, which would directly help the nation," he said.
Prabhu said both the state and Centre have decided to give full thrust towards Mumbai and launching of Rs 11,441 crore projects under the MUTP-3 is the big example of it.
Fadnavis said: "The state government would be investing Rs 10,000-crore budget on infrastructure and it would ensure that these projects are completed within five years."
