Madras HC dismisses PIL on India taking part at CHOGM

The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Wednesday dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) against India’s participation at the Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meetings (CHOGM) scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka later this week. A division bench consisting of Justice A Selvam and Justice V S Ravi dismissed the PIL filed by Madurai-based advocate Kumaravel. In his PIL, Kumaravel cited Tamil Nadu assembly’s resolution which demanded India boycott GHOGM.
