Lucknow gets Akhilesh’s nod to be state’s IT hub signal to become IT hub

With an aim to invite investments in UP, the Akhilesh Yadav government approved new IT policy under which Lucknow would be developed as Information Technology hub with IT city coming up in Gajaria Farm in the outskirts of the city.

The state cabinet that met on Wednesday approved the new policy and also allowed transfer of 150 acre land for setting up of IT city.

Immediately after cabinet meeting CM Akhilesh Yadav said that the priority of the govt is to generate employment.

‘This is the age of Information technology. Other states have progressed in this field but UP has yet to take a first step. Our endeavour is to develop Lucknow as IT city where IT giants could set up their offices. We have allocated land for this purpose. No industrialist would set up units in UP until they are given concessions. The new IT policy is the pathway of giving the industrial units concessions,’ the CM said. The vision of the policy is to use IT as a vehicle for economic development and inclusive growth he added.
