Lt Gen Singh at Poonch to take stock of security

“The Corps Commander during his visit took stock of the prevailing security situation along the LOC in the wake of the recent incidents of ceasefire violations,” an Army officer said.

He added the general asked the local administration to make some bunkers and bomb shelters so that civilians in the area can take shelter in such places whenever there is heavy fire from across the border. “To minimise damage to civilian life in case of heavy firing from across the LOC, the general requested the administration to come up with bunkers and bomb shelters,” he said.

The officer also met with the local formation commanders and took stock of the prevailing situation along the Line of Control in Poonch district. He has handed over Rs 10,000 relief money to the people injured in shelling, at the hospital.
