lover forces girl to drink acid, critical

A Mumbai girl was forced to drink acid allegedly by her jilted lover at Gorai beach and was later pushed into the sea on Saturday evening. The 18-year-old girl, who hails from Borivali, is now admitted in Thunga Hospital in Mumbai. The police on Saturday arrested the accused and registered a case against accused Jitendra Sakhpal on charges including attempt to murder.
The victim girl had sustained injuries on her face, lips and tongue and is admitted in a private hospital here in the financial capital, they said. According to Gorai police, Sakpal and the girl, both residents of suburban Dahisar, were in a relationship but parted ways a few months back after the girl’s parents disapproved of their relationship. Sakpal had also proposed to marry her.
