‘Love scenes are easy after marriage’

What is your role in Krrish 3?
I play Kaal, the super villian of the film. He is an aristrocratic figure burning with vengeance whose aim is to conquer humanity and rule over. He is the ultimate nemesis  to Krrish.

Your father has been a veteran in the industry, did acting come naturally to you?
I always aspired to be an actor. There was no plan B for me. Acting naturally came to me since I was four years old. Once during a play at school, I acted so well that all my teachers praised and lauded me. That was the start. Later on I went to Trinity College of London for a course in acting.

The audience accept you more as a villian than hero. Your comments.

My career spans across 32 films since 2002 till present. I have played all kinds of roles with diverse characters. I have portrayed various shades on screen be it a lover boy in Saathiya, comic in Masti, action in Shootout at Lokhandwala and Company. So the audience has loved and appreciated me as a versatile actor.

Any reasons why your solo hero films don’t click well at the Box Office?
I don’t understand the concept of solo hero films firstly. A film is a combined effort of a team be it in front or behind the camera. No other media bifurcates cinema like we do here in Bollywood. For me the content, the film and the genre matters and I try to give in my best. There is no classification like this in Hollywood. You don’t categorise any film as a Brad Pitt or an Angelina Jolie solo starrer.

Did you rebuild your ties with Sanjay Dutt post Shootout at Lokhandwala incident?
We never had any issues between us. If we did have then I would not have a chance to work with him again Zila Ghaziabad or he would not have offered me Shera.

How difficult it is to do love scenes post marriage?
It is never difficult pre or post marriage. There are no real feelings involved and it is an emotionless act put on screen which should look real. I don’t understand the fuss created around the same.

Have you achieved your due as an actor in the industry?
I am just starting out and my due is still awaited. A due is ideally given to those who hung their boots from the field. I have a long way to go and achieve the best in me still.
