Lokayukta indicted former Dikshit aide joins AAP

Uday Sahay, who belongs originally to the Indian Police Service, and worked as director information in Delhi government for several years on Wednesday announced on the social networking site Facebook that he was joining the political party with the ‘blessings of his academic guru and PhD guide, professor Anand Kumar of CSSS in JNU.’ Kumar, along with Yogendra Yadav, is considered responsible for deciding the ideological moorings of AAP.

Incidentally, former Lokayukta Manmohan Sarin had indicted Sheila Dikshit for the media blitzkrieg undertaken by her government during the period Sahay was in-charge of publicity in 2009. Sahay in a newspaper article had claimed that publicity drive initiated by him was responsible for Dikshit winning third term in 2009.

He was brought into Delhi government by Dikshit’s then principal secretary PK Tripathi, under whom Sahay had worked in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. He later joined Commonwealth Games Committee, before quitting government to open his public relations company.

In his post Sahay claimed, ‘I found the core values of AAP naturally aligned with those of mine.’
