Lok Nayak Hospital to be made model health care facility

Lok Nayak Hospital will soon be developed as a model health care facility in the national capital.

Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Monday held a meeting with several officials of the hospital, MCD and traffic police to review the progress of infrastructure development works at the hospital and made a plan to transform it into a model health care facility.

In the meeting, the LG was assured that the new OPD block in the hospital will be completed by the end of this month.

Jung also instructed the commissioner of MCD (North) and Special Commissioner (Traffic) to ensure that passage of emergency vehicles and services are unobstructed and that unauthorised vendors are removed from the site.

The Lt Governor also directed the CP (Traffic) to deploy 24/7 traffic personnel on the hospital premises to regulate traffic.

The Hospital MS also informed Jung about dialysis unit that requires huge quantities of water which the current supply is unable to meet adequately.

‘The dialysis facility is a critical facility and water supply to it must be Delhi Jal Board’s top agenda,’ ordered LG Jung in the meeting.

Jung instructed the CEO of DJB to divert additional water to the dialysis unit and to re-visit the map of water distribution at Lok Nayak hospital and streamline the same within a month.

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital also informed the LG that biometric attendance system is being introduced in a phased manner and by July 1 and all its 4,000 employees will come under its ambit.
