Local train ‘seductresses’ busted for extorting money from passengers

The railway police in Ghaziabad has busted a gang of women, who used to seduce male passengers in local trains, make sexual advances and then extort money by threatening to implicate them in false cases of eve-teasing.

'The woman seemed to be from well off families as all the 17 women immediately paid Rs 1,000 fine to the railway magistrate,' said Vishok Gupta, inspector of Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Ghaziabad. The woman, aged in late twenties, were well dressed. 'In the absence of any rule pertaining to this case, we charged them for begging and immediately produced them before the magistrate,' added Gupta. He further added that  a group of local passengers have complained about their behaviour since last few weeks. 'They use to target single male passengers to strike a conversation with them and seducing them,' added Gupta. If the person refuse to shell out the money they raised cries of being eve-teased, on which the men would be forced to pay them.

RPF personnel along with women police carried out raids in several local and passenger trains on Saturday morning to nab the gang and arrested 17 women. Among the arrested women one hails from Aligarh and the rest are from Ghaziabad. They used to travel in local trains from Delhi to Ghaziabad.
