The Capital gears up for the third edition of Delhi Literature Festival. The three-day festival will begin on April 17 at Triveni Kala Sangam. The festival that will showcase a vibrant panel of discussions, readings, workshops, talks, presentations and book launches.

This year Delhi Literature Festival would also pay special tribute to noted author Khushwant Singh and cartoonist R K Laxman. Last year, the festival paid a homage to Rajendra Yadav, one of the most well-known and reputed writers of Hindi Language.

The last two Delhi Literature Festivals were inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Delhi in the presence of leading authors, diplomats, journalists, bloggers and book lovers in large numbers. This year, Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani will inaugurate the festival. 

The beautiful historic city Delhi, with an impressive literary and cultural heritage, has it's very own three-day book carnival. DLF began in 2013, with planned literary events such as panel discussions, book readings, book launches, workshops, performances, speaker events, poetry, theatre and cinema etc.

With the aim of promoting art, culture and literature the Delhi Literature Festival not only witnesses active participation from renowned award winning authors, journalists but also young, aspiring writers and as Delhi being India's political capital, the participation of the political class, government officials and diplomats with interest in books and literature.

Literature is just not inked paper between covers, but much more and beyond. Maintaining its erudite atmosphere, DLF will invite a wide gamut of speakers - authors, poets, literary thinkers and entrepreneurs from across the country. Dramatic readings, literary criticism, graphic novels, erotica, power of new media, playwriting and poetry, the festival promises to be an amalgamation of all.
