It takes two to tango time in Delhi now. Yes, the popular Argentine dance form is back yet again. If you have the dancing feet, the agility and moves come be a part of the International Tango Festival and learn while you spin.
'The three days atelier of teaching the dance form will encapsulate 12 workshops by four internationally renowned teachers. Each workshop will be for 90 minutes. Masters like Rod Relucio and Jenny from USA, Damian Thomson and Zannica from Australia constitute our panel of teachers,' said Rakesh Borar, Director, 2toTango academy.
'The number of Tango enthusiasts in Indian metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore too, has risen dramatically. This graceful and sensuous dance form has even been recognized by Unesco as the classical dance heritage of Argentina and Uruguay, a fact that has enhanced its appeal even among older age groups in India,' said Borar.
'Both young and old alike are taking onto this dance form with high zeal. The festival has already evoked interest especially among professionals incuding foreign diplomats based in town. Argentine Tango is a classy dance for people with refined taste. Mostly we see people of 35 years and plus age group interested in Tango,' added Borar.
Starting first week of December, a new batch for Tango would begin which will constitute each one hour 45 minute class followed by one hour of practise session. Besides this they will also have a social dance evening every week for all the students. New students are taught the walk techniques and some basic tango.
