LeT chief’s son-in-law Khalid Waleed ‘masterminded’ Pampore attack

According to a report, Waleed, who is taking operational command of the LeT, is suspected to have masterminded the Pampore attack, while two of his deputies — Hanzla Adnan and Sajid Jat — played handlers to two terrorists who killed the Indian troops. Meanwhile, LeT commander for South Kashmir Abu Dujana arranged the local logistics.

Interestingly, Hanzla and Sajid were also the handlers of Mohammad Naveed, the LeT terrorist caught alive during an attack on a Border Security Force (BSF) convoy on August 5 last year in Udhampur.

According to intelligence report, Khalid Waleed is being groomed by Hafiz Saeed to oversee anti-India operations of the LeT. Waleed was associated with Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) for a long time.
Abu Qital, who oversees the terror camps of LeT in PoK, looked after the training of the two fidayeen, who killed eight CRPF jawans on June 25. Dujana on the other hand arranged for the stay of the two terrorists and their travel to the attack site.

According to intelligence sources, terrorists entered India between June 15 and 20 from PoK with clear instruction to attack on security forces and were using code word ‘Ahmed wala Kaam’ for attack.

Security agencies believe a control room, consisting of 15-20 men of the LeT, ISI, Pakistan Army and software experts, was set up in PoK for smooth infiltration of the terrorists.

The attackers were getting instructions from PoK also provided local support in the Valley by the surrendered terrorist namely Ruhul Amin Dar, who dropped these terrorists at attacking point in Pampore.

The two terrorists, who attacked the CRPF convoy,  were moving in the Valley for almost 6-7 hours, without getting noticed.

Eight CRPF troopers were killed and 22 others injured in an attack on their bus by two LeT ‘fidayeen’ terrorists. The two Lashkar militants were also gunned down.

LeT spokesperson Abdullah Gaznavi claimed his outfit’s responsibility for the attack through a statement mailed to some local news agencies in Srinagar. He also admitted that both of the outfit’s militants involved in the attack have been killed.

“A vehicle carrying CRPF troops back after routine duties was attacked by two LeT terrorists in Fristbal area near Pampore town on Srinagar-Jammu national highway,” a CRPF spokesman had said.

“Two LeT terrorists travelling in a private car came from the opposite direction and got down in front of the CRPF bus, resorted to indiscriminate firing and later tried to enter the bus,” he said, adding the CRPF’s road opening party (ROP) “swiftly swung into action and gunned down both the terrorists”, he had said.
