Left to share space with Right in KVS libraries

The Union Human Resource Development has decided to purchase books for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) library which has authors in plenty who oppose Right wing ideology.

The books on the lives of Amartya Sen, Pakistani human rights activist Malala Yousafzai, Shiv Sena 
founder Bala Saheb Thackeray,, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President APJ Abdul Kalam and Indira Gandhi were among the 360 total books to be purchased by KVS for year 2015-16.

The books which KV students would read in the library include Narendra Modi’s Abode of Love, Suman Vajpayee’s I Am Malala, Dr Pavitra Kumar Sharma’s Anna Hazare <g data-gr-id="24">aur</g> Lokpal Vidheyak, Indira Gandhi : Vyakti <g data-gr-id="25">aur</g> Vichar by <g data-gr-id="26">Lalbahadur</g> Singh Chouhan, Ek Tha Tiger – Bal Thackeray by Virendra Singh Baghel and many others.

Keeping in mind the Modi government’s objective to promote Hindi, the KVS is purchasing 303 books at the cost of Rs 85,123 in Hindi and only 57 in English at the cost of Rs 15,458, which includes 14 books on Mathematics only.

In the series of great personalities, several books on APJ Abdul Kalam have been added in the list, which include Forge Your Future and Wings Of Fire.

Apart from this, KVS has also included a book on the President – Shikhar ka <g data-gr-id="20">safar</g>: Pranab Mukherjee. The books on Dalit freedom struggle, Bhagat Singh will also be procured by KVS for its students.
