Left parties, JNUSU launch nationwide protest

Leaders from Left-parties and the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Unions (JNUSU) on Tuesday announced a nationwide campaign called ‘Utho Mere Desh Naye Bharat Ke Waastey, Bhagat Singh Ke Raaste’ against the alleged communal politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led centre. Addressing the gathering at the Press Club of India, Dipankar Bhattacharya, leader of CPI(ML) alleged that the RSS-BJP was trying to subvert the voice of dissent in the University. He cited the example of poet and scientist Gauhar Raza, who has written on the deliberate attempts to mute diverse voices.
