It seems that AAP has all the expertise in its pocket. The newly-elected Delhi Assembly MLAs of the newbie party are not only well educated but some are even graduates from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Besides, many are advocates and engineers — clearly AAP has it all.
The AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharati are graduates from IIT. Adarsh Shastri, is the well known former sales head of Apple, India, who won from Dwarka constituency. He has been also honoured by the Indian Cellular Association for having pursued the growth of legitimate business. Out of 70, AAP has won 67 seats.
Apart form well known faces, the youngest AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal from Deoli has a post-graduate degree in M.Com from Delhi University. Also, some of the AAP MLAs like Sarita Singh from Rohtas Nagar and Kapil Misra from Karwal Nagar have done their masters in social work. AAP has five advocates as its MLAs. Sandeep Kumar from Sultanpur is an advocate along with Jitender Singh Tomar from Tri Nagar, apart from others.
Meanwhile, the new Assembly will be the youngest one with 30 out of 70 MLAs below the age of 50 years and another 16 in the age group of 51-60 years. Further, two MLAs are 26 years old and six MLAs are below 30 years. The senior most MLA is AAP’s Ram Niwas Goel (67) from Shahdara followed by Hazarilal Chauhan (66) from Patel Nagar. BJP’s Jagdish Pradhan (61) from Mustafabad, Om Prakash Sharma from Vishwas Nagar (61) and Vijender Gupta (51) from Rohini.
