Law and order issue exaggerated by opponents, says Akhilesh

The CM who was speaking in support of the thanks motion on the governor’s address on the last day of the assembly session,said that the government did everything to control the Muzuffarnagar riots and every one including the NHRC and other organisations were satisfied with the government’s act.

‘We are now only concentrating on development of the state. It is unfortunate that when the country was experiencing good growth rate, the BSP government in UP derailed all the development avenues but now UP has accelerated its development rate’ he said.

Replying to the charges of opposition members, Yadav said that by 2016 there would be no shortage of power in the state besides by next couple of years all the districts would be connected with four-lane roads. He also announced that all the big cities will have international standard police control rooms besides after launching Lucknow Metro, the government was seeking reports for other big cities for introduction of mass rapid transport system.

The CM said that all the promises made in the poll manifesto of 2012 assembly polls have been fulfilled.

While talking about law and order in the state CM blamed BJP leaders for trying to create communal disturbances in Jhansi ‘ If we go on the ratio of crimes in UP comparing with the population, then the rate is very low if compared to several states,’ Yadav claimed.

Leader of opposition Swami Prasad Maurya while intervening after the CM’s reply said the government’s dream project the expressway between Agra and Lucknow has been stalled as no company is ready to do the work. He also alleged that the government speaks about minority welfare but till date the state minority commission has not been constituted.
