Late Chhabra’s daughter-in-law continues fast from hospital

Adamant on carrying forward her father-in-law former MLA Gurucharan’s protest for liquor ban and strong Lokayukta in Rajasthan, 35-year-old Pooja Chhabra continued her hunger strike from the ICU of SMS Hospital here for the seventh day on Sunday.

“Pooja, who has been admitted in the ICU of SMS hospital, has refused to take any food or juice. She was shifted from Shaheed Smarak by police on November 27 afternoon,” her husband Gaurav Chhabra said.

She is suffering from low blood pressure and diabetic condition due to no intake of semi-solid food. A glucose drip has been administered to her, he added.

Gaurav said no minister or government official has so far come to meet Pooja. “We did not even get any communication from the CM’s office.”
