The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung on Friday reviewed progress of schemes and projects announced in the annual budget three months ago.
While taking a comprehensive review of various schemes and projects announced by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the budget, Jung said, ‘Secretaries must take responsibility for each project and personally monitor its progress.’
He also directed all the head of departments to clearly define implementation plan with a well-defined time line for completion of these projects.
For the schemes and projects related to power and water reforms, Jung asked Delhi’s chief secretary DM Spolia to ensure that the six-month’s deadline is strictly adhered to.
‘A nodal officer must be appointed from Delhi Jal Board to pursue the project on urgent basis’, he said.
During his inspection, the LG also took stock of pending health projects in various government hospitals across the city. Spolia briefed LG that Lok Nayak and Guru Teg Bahadur hospitals are being made into model hospitals.
A new eight-floor fully air-conditioned OPD building with modern amenities for patients has already been made functional at Lok Nayak Hospital, he added.
