Kumar Vishwas denies BJP rumour

Kumar Vishwas and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday laughed off reports that he is joining the BJP and will contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election next month.

This is not the first time that Vishwas has been compelled to deny what he calls rumours that he is joining the BJP. Reports on Wednesday morning said the satirist-politician is in talks with the ruling party and may join it after both agree on where in Uttar Pradesh he will contest the polls beginning on February 4. Vishwas, 46, used humour to deny the reports and also took pot-shots at the BJP.

Vishwas quoted “sources” to say PM Narendra Modi is joining the TDP or Andhra Pradesh’s ruling TDP. Other AAP leaders followed up with suggestions too — the more outlandish the better. “I have information that after the Uttar Pradesh election, the PM is joining the Congress. He has also met Rahul Gandhi,” quipped Manish Sisodia, the Deputy CM.
