Youths accused in Tangra murder case in cop net
Kolkata: The Anti-Rowdy Squad (ARS) and Homicide Squad of Detective Department have nabbed two persons on Sunday for allegedly murdering Tarak Mondal alias Khatal Tarak at Tangra in December last year.
Mondal was stabbed to death on December 31 morning last year. Six persons arrived on motorcycles and called Mondal.
When Mondal replied, some of them went inside his home, dragged him out and started beating him up.
Onlookers were witnessing the incident, but nobody rescued him.
After a while, the criminals started stabbing him. Mondal tried to resist but he failed.
Mondal's family members alleged that the crimals were local residents. They identified them as Bhaja, Ani, Chhotu, Milan, Nibas and Tulu.
Based on the information, sleuths recently came to know that one of the accused Milan Jana was hiding in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
He was arrested with the help of Pedakakan Police Station in Andhra Pradesh on the warrant issued by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM), Sealdah.
Later, based on Jana's statement
sleuths went to Secundrabad in Telangana and nabbed another accused
identified as Biswajit Das alias Nibharsha.
In another incident, three persons, including two Rohingya women, were arrested from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport in Kolkata on Sunday night.
According to police, the Rohingya women fraudulently obtained the Indian passport and were going to Kuala Lumpur escorted by Kallol Mitra from Suri, in Birbhum.
The Rohinga women were arrested for allegedly violating the Foreigners Act and have been remanded to judicial custody on Monday after being produced at the Barasat Court.
Mitra was also produced before the same court and was remanded to police custody for four days.
