Youth stabbed to death with ice pick in Seelampur

NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man was murdered in Seelampur area of north east Delhi on Monday evening. The police received a call that a man had been stabbed by a pointed ice pick in Jafrabad area. The ice pick punctured his heart and the youth died instantly.

According to police, a scuffle broke out between 23-year-old Sufiyan, a resident of Seelampur, and another man while Sufiyan – who worked as an AC technician – was having food at Jafrabad pulia along with one of his friends.

"It was during this time he had a scuffle with the unidentified man, who rushed to a nearby shop after the heated exchange of words and brought an ice pick and attacked Sufiyan. The pick pierced Sufiyan's heart and he died instantly," said Additonal Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East, RP Meena.

Though he was rushed to hospital after the incident, the hospital staff informed police that Sufiyan was brought dead to the hospital.

The cops have sent the body for post-mortem and the family has been informed.

Cops have made several teams to identify the accused who is on the run after the murder.

They suspect he is a local and would be identified and traced easily.
