Youth killed by husband over illicit relationship with wife

Kolkata: A youth identified as Hasan Ali (30) was killed after he got involved in an illicit relationship with the wife of the accused person.

Ali's body was cut into pieces and the torso was dumped beside Noakhal in Madyamgram. The other body parts were dumped approximately one km away from Noakhal. Sources informed that locals noticed Ali's torso and informed police on Wednesday morning.

Police recovered the torso but was unable to locate the other parts. Assuming that the other body parts might be in the canal, the sleuths called in a fisherman with his net to find if anything was there at the bottom. After a few hours of search, one leg was fished out of the water but other parts were still missing.

Meanwhile, locals informed police that Ali was missing since Monday night. They also mentioned about his illicit relationship with one Arjina in the locality.

Smelling a rat, police went to Arjina's house and found her. Her husband Jakir Mondal was also present there. While interrogating both of them, the sleuths noticed that their statements were very incoherent.

Later, when police put pressure on Mondal, he admitted to have killed Ali and cut off his body into pieces as he had an illicit relationship with his wife, Arjina. He dumped the torso beside Noakhal and other body parts a bit far away from there. He also stated that his wife had helped him.
