Soon after the incident, the Metro railway authority announced the temporary disruption in the service. The announcement was made in each and every Metro station.

Many such incidents on weekdays and in peak hours disrupt the service. The office goers, traders and school children have been facing such problems for years.
In December last year, Metro service was disrupted when a man committed suicide at Rabindra Sarobar station.
According to reports, a 35-year-old man jumped in front of a Kavi Subhas to Noapara bound train, which was arriving at Rabindra Sarobar station.
Following the incident, Metro service had to be stopped between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunge) and Maidan stations.
Metro railway officials said that the man was killed on spot and was stuck underneath the train.
However, office to home bound commuters suffered a lot due to the Metro service disruption in the peck hours. The Metro railway authority was planning to introduce 'suicide prevention mechanism'. But no such constructive development has taken place.
