Woman, biker dead in two separate road mishaps

A woman died in a road accident at Entally on Sunday afternoon when she was hit from behind by a Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) dump truck.
Kabita Agarwal (35), the woman, received heavy injuries. The local residents took her to a hospital. But the doctors declared her brought death.
Infuriated local residents damaged the dump truck at the spot near Philips crossing. The errant mob also damaged a private bus as well.
Later, the mob blocked the road which caused huge traffic congestion in the area. Deputy Commissioner (South-west Division) Debasmita Das reached there with the force.
The police convinced the protesting local residents to withdraw the road blockade.
In another case, a motorbike rider died at Jessore Road after a speeding truck crushed him to death.
The truck hit the bike from behind. Sunu Singh (25), the bike rider succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested the accused truck driver. His vehicle was seized. The incident took place at around 4 pm. The biker came under the wheels of the truck. His body was lying in pool of blood. However, the local residents alleged that road accident due to rash driving has become a common in this locality.
