Winners of Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2019 named
Kolkata: Minister of State for Information and Cultural Affairs (I & CA) Department, Indranil Sen has announced the winners of Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2019 on Friday. This year, 75 Durga Puja committees will be honored by the state government under 11 categories on October 11, the day of Puja Carnival at Red Road.
On Friday, Sen along with Principal Secretary to the I & CA Department Vivek Kumar held a press conference at the Abanindra Sabhaghar and congratulated the puja committees who have been selected for the award. Minister also informed that apart from Kolkata, Puja committees in the 22 districts will be awarded Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman under three categories.
This year, 27 puja committees will be awarded with 'Sherar Sera' award including Barisha Club, Chetla Agrani, Suruchi Sangha, Tridhara, Ekdalia Evergreen, Naktala Udayan Sangha Chakraberia, Behala Natun Dal and Sreebhumi Sporting Club. In the 'Shera Mandap' category, four Puja committees will be awarded. In the 'Shera Pratima' category, three puja committees will be awarded. It may be mentioned that Kalighat Milan Sangha, which has been selected for 'Shera Pratima' is also selected in the 'Sherar Sera' category.
For 'Sera Aloksojja' four puja committees, including College Square and Kumartuli Sarbojonin have been selected. In the 'Sabeki Puja Serar Shera' category six puja committees, including the Alipore Bodyguard Lines have been selected. Six pujas, including Kasba Bosepukur, Badamtala Ashar Sangha, Kasba Bosepukur Talbagan, will be awarded for 'Shera Bhabna'. For 'Biswa Bangla Bisesh Puroshkar' category 22 puja committees have been selected whereas three puja committees will be given the 'Shera Paribeshbandhab' award. Bagbazar Sarbojonin which has been selected for 'Sabeki Pujo Sherar Shera' is also selected for 'Shera Dhakesri'. Suruchi Sangha puja committee has been selected for best theme song along with 'Serar Sera' award. A panel of 64 eminent people who had judged and decided the pujas.

Sabeki Pujo Sherar Shera: Kumartuli Sarbojanin, Bagbazar Sarbojanin, Sanghasree, Body Guard Lines, Alipore, Maniktala Chaltabagan and Adi Ballygunge.
Shera Bhabna: Badamtala Ashar Sangha, Kasba Bosepukur Shitalamandir, Ajeya Sanhati, Kasba Bosepukur talbagan, Bharatchakra, Bhowanipore 75 Pally and Nalin Sarkar Street.
