Water supply in North Kolkata to be suspended on Dec 14

Kolkata: The supply of filtered water in North Kolkata will be affected on December 14 due to necessary repairs.

A notification issued by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation ( KMC) stated that along with north Kolkata parts of Central and South Kolkata would be affected.

The supply of filtered water from Tallah pumping station along with Jorabagan water treatment plant and some booster pumping stations at Mohammad Ali park, Auckland Square, Bagmari, Park Circus, Kasba, New park, Chaulpatti and Convent Park will be suspended for installation and replacement of higher diameter valves.

The supply will be suspended from 10 am on December 14. There will be no afternoon and evening supply. Normal supply is expected to be resumed on December 15 morning.

The affected areas in North Kolkata will be Borough I, II,III, IV, V, VI and VII while the wards in central and south Kolkata are 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90 and 91.

It may be recalled that civic authorities recently carried out massive repair work at garden Reach Water Works. The supply of drinking water in south Kolkata and southern suburbs had been restored and it was restored on time.
