TV actress molested in Jadavpur

A TV serial actress was molested at Jadavpur on Wednesday night following a heated altercation over parking of vehicles.

Police said that the incident took place when the actress was returning home on Wednesday night in a car driven by her husband.

After entering into a narrow lane at Chittaranjan Colony, they found another car parked on the road leaving no space for other vehicles to pass.

The actress' husband went out of the car in search of the driver of the other vehicle.

After a few minutes the driver reached the spot and started abusing the actress and her husband. It led to a heated altercation.

Subsequently, the accused pushed her husband and attempted to beat him up.

Finding no other way, the actress intervened to save her husband. The accused also passed lewd comments at her and even pushed her.

The actress finally dialled in the emergency helpline number of the Kolkata Police and sought help.

Policemen in the control room at Lalbazar passed the information to local police station and the police officers patrolling in the area.

Policemen from local police station rushed to the spot and rescued both the actress and her husband.

The accused driver had, however, somehow managed to flee with his vehicle realising that he would get arrested.

The police initiated a search for the accused and raided his house. But his family members couldn't give any clue about the driver. He did not return home on Wednesday night.
