Truck overturns on National Highway, 4 injured

Darjeeling: Around 9:45 am on Tuesday a six-wheeler truck with registration number WB 15- 2179 lost control and overturned on the National Highway 31. The truck was loaded with tea leaves. The incident occurred near the police patrol post at Sevok. The overturned truck hit two taxis. Two vehicles skid off around 30 m below the road owing to the impact. Four passengers travelling in the two vehicles received minor injuries and were taken to Siliguri for treatment.

The overturned truck caused a traffic jam on the National Highway 31 and it was temporarily closed. A recovery vehicle was called in and the road was cleared later during the day.
