TMC to take out rallies against 'vendetta politics'

The Trinamool Congress supporters have planned a number of rallies protesting against alleged "witch hunting" against its leaders who are purportedly trapped into accepting money in exchange for rendering services and BJP's "vendetta politics".

The rallies will be organised on March 30, 31 and April 3 respectively. They will be held by the women's wing of the party along with the Kolkata district unit and the party's youth wing. Mayor Sovan Chatterjee will lead the rally that will start from Sealdah and end at Esplanade on March 31.

The women's wing of the party, led by its president Chandrima Bhattacharya, will organise a rally from College Square to Esplanade on March 30. On April 3, there will be another procession from Jadavpur 8B bus stand to Hazra Park.

The leaders and workers will raise slogans against the vindictive attitude of the BJP. Party supremo Mamata Banerjee has already raised her voice against the vindictive attitude of the BJP in conducting the Narada probe. It may be recalled that after the arrest of Madan Mitra in Sarada chit fund case, Banerjee had taken part in a rally. Trinamool Congress had also raised its voice after Sudip Banerjee was arrested in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.

Party leaders also questioned as to why BJP leader Joy Prakash Majumdar was spared though allegations of taking bribe were leveled against him too. Also, there were questions raised as to why the Centre had failed to take action against CPI(M) leader Sujan Chakraborty whose name had appeared in connection with the Sarada chit fund case.
