TMC leader hacked to death

A Trinamool Congress leader was hacked to death near his residence at North 24 Parganas' Sandeshkhali on Monday night. Some miscreants came from behind and stabbed him indiscriminately. Arabindo Karan (70), the victim fell on the road and his body was found lying in a pool of blood.

Police learnt that the man who was the working president of Joygopalpur outfit of Trinamool, was returning from a meeting. It was around 11.05 pm when the miscreants pounced on him and started hacking him. The family members of Karan said that it was a conspiracy and pointed fingers at the rival political parties. Karan was very popular in his area and the local residents expressed their shock after the incident. "He was a really good man. His relationship with the local people was excellent," said a villager.
