The police arrested three persons and seized 1.5 kg of heroin and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash from their possession in South 24 Parganas district.
Additional Superintendent of Police (West) South 24 Parganas district, Chandrasekhar Bardhan on Thursday said a police team raided the Parimachan area on Wednesday night and arrested the three persons and seized 1.5 kg of heroin and cash from their possession.
In February, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have recovered 350 grams of heroin like powder and arrested three persons during a joint raid with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) from Murshidabad district of Bengal.
Acting on a tip-off, the BSF troopers of Astrosiya outpost in Murshidabad district conducted a joint operation with the NCB Kolkata officials and apprehended three suspects with 350 grams of light brown powder suspected to be heroin.
