Three injured after car rams into pillar on Howrah Bridge

Three persons were injured when the car they were travelling in hit a roadside pillar on the Howrah Bridge late on Wednesday night.
Two passengers and the driver of the vehicle received injuries in the incident. They were rushed to a private hospital in the city. According to the doctors, the condition of two injured persons is stated to be serious.
Eye witnesses said that the car was at a top speed when the driver lost control over the vehicle and hit the roadside pillar on the bridge. The local people took part in the rescue operation and rushed the victim to the hospital. After being informed, the police also reached the spot and seized the vehicle.
Police said that the vehicle was heading towards Howrah. The accident happened due to the over-speeding of the vehicle. The driver and the passenger who was sitting on the front seat received serious injuries. The frontal portion of the car has been badly damaged after it had hit the pillar number 33.
Police are examining the CCTV footages in the area. The driver of the vehicle will be interrogated by the police once he gets cured.
